If everything goes per the plan, a new International Airport will be setup soon for Andhra Pradesh’s new capital Amaravathi. As per the latest proposals sent to Airport Authority, around 5000 acres were identified near VVIT University, Namburu!

Surrounded by villages like Kaza, Namburu, Gollamudi, Penumuli and Kantamraju Konduru… AMARAVATI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT will be completed by end of 2028 and will be operational by Jan 2029. The new airport will be minutes drive from Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali, Core capital region, Seed access road, West bypass road and Chennai Kolkata highway (NH:16)

On the other hand, 5000 acres near Ravela is also under consideration for the new Greenfield Airport of Amaravati. DPR is being prepared and will be sent to Airports Authority of India very soon. Official confirmation is awaited though!

Official confirmation about the exact location, size and services will be announced very soon! Imagine boarding a direct flight to New York or Los Angeles from Amaravathi!
